Staying encouraged during difficult times and hardships is needed just like any regular day. When that happens, it can be hard to remain positive. You want to curl up in your pajamas, stay in bed all day and give up. Many times, it can result from losing a job, decrease in pay, death, injury, divorce, sickness, and many other things. It can lead to depression, worry, fear, doubt, and even stress. I find that for myself, one of the hardest things to do as a Christian is to have faith that God is working and not to be afraid. For some of us, it's possibly one of the hardest things to have during our pandemic because there is a lot of uncertainty. I have always been a worrier, have done things on my own, and tried to control my own life. What I have learned and still learning is to let go and let God. I know, I know it is such a hard thing to do at times and easier to say than do. But when you rely entirely on God knowing that he is the head of your life and knows exactly what you need, you will begin to feel so much peace and contentment. The majority of 2019 was such a trying and hard year for me. I tried my very best to hide what I was enduring mentally, emotionally, spiritually, financially, and physically. It was different than previous years because I knew that year God was teaching me, stretching me, purging me, and, most of all, building my faith and trust in Him. I was ready to give up on pretty much everything. I was ready to remain complacent. I cried many tears. I was frustrated, discouraged, angry, and doubtful. I had people around me to encourage me, but it wasn’t enough for me. I wanted to see results right away. God’s timing was taking to long. LOL. Listen, hunty I am being as real as I can be. I am grateful for the hardships because it has taught me many things, most importantly, to trust in God and only rely on Him. He is my resource, my provider, my protector, my EVERYTHING! You have to realize that there is power working on your behalf, even when you can’t see it. When you learn to trust, despite your circumstances, you will see that your faith will grow BIGGER!
Philippians 4:19 (NKJV)- "And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." My attitude is a big part of my learning to remain encouraged. Will I stay in joy, peace, and gratitude? Or will I stay stuck on what I don’t have or what I am going through? Never give up, and remain confident in the Lord. There may be tough times, but the tough times you face is the testing of your faith and will produce perseverance. (James 1:1-2). James tells us to turn our hardships into times of learning. I continue to learn that the more pressure I am under, the more my character is being built. Ask the Lord to calm your restless heart regarding your finances and any other life situations.
So, my love, I encourage you to ask yourself will you remain confident and steadfast in the Lord? Will you stay encouraged during hard times?. Will you trust in the Lord? Will you remain in peace?
Luke 12:29-31 (NKJV)- "And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you."
Allow this song to encourage you and minister to you during these times. Remember to remain in prayer, study, fast, and trust that God is victorious in EVERYTHING! He's got you!
